L’Atelier Lenses

While frames are important, the quality of your lenses has the greatest impact on your visual experience.

We work with internationally recognised lens manufacturers including Zeiss, Hoya and Essilor to provide lens solutions tailored to your individual needs.

Selecting The Right Lens Design

Different lens types are designed to support different visual tasks. Some are intended for a single viewing distance, while others are designed to provide support across multiple distances or specific working environments.

At L’Atelier Optometrist, lens recommendations are based on more than prescription values alone.

Working distance, digital device use, driving requirements, hobbies, occupational demands and everyday visual habits all influence which lens design may be most appropriate.

During your examination, we take the time to understand how you use your eyes throughout the day before recommending a lens solution that is suited to your visual needs, frame choice and intended use.

Because the right lens should support not only how you see, but how you live.

Lens Types

Single vision lenses are designed to correct vision at one focal distance only. They may be prescribed for distance vision, near tasks or specific day-to-day requirements such as screen use or prescription sunglasses.

They are often suitable for patients who require correction for one primary viewing distance and may be customised according to prescription, lens material and intended use.

Progressive lenses are designed to provide vision correction across near, intermediate and distance viewing zones within a single lens, without visible segment lines.

They may be suitable for patients who require support at more than one working distance and want an all-in-one lens option for day-to-day use. Lens design, fitting accuracy and frame selection all play an important role in overall performance.

Occupational lenses are intended for near and intermediate working distances and may be recommended for patients who spend extended periods at a desk, on digital devices or in indoor working environments.

They are not typically intended for full distance use but may provide improved comfort for specific task-based requirements such as screen work, reading, meetings and office-based activities.

Accommodative support lenses are designed for patients experiencing visual fatigue during sustained near or intermediate tasks. They may be considered where additional support is required for prolonged screen use, study or other detailed close work.

Suitability depends on age, prescription, symptoms and visual demands. These lenses are recommended only where clinically appropriate.

Myopia control lenses are designed for children with progressing short-sightedness (myopia) and may help slow the rate at which myopia increases over time.

Early management of myopia may help reduce the risk of higher levels of myopia developing later in life.

At L’Atelier Optometrist, myopia management recommendations are made following a comprehensive assessment of your child’s vision, prescription history and individual risk factors.

As a certified myopia-control provider, we offer evidence-based myopia management solutions where clinically appropriate.

Sports vision lenses are designed to support visual performance in specific sporting and outdoor activities where factors such as contrast, glare, reaction time, depth perception and changing light conditions may influence performance.

Depending on the sport and visual demands involved, recommendations may include specialised lens designs, contrast-enhancing tints, polarised lenses, impact-resistant materials or sport-specific prescription solutions.

Suitable options vary according to the activity, prescription requirements and individual visual needs.

Lens Enhancements

Anti-reflective coatings are applied to lens surfaces to reduce reflections and may improve lens transparency, cosmetic appearance and visual comfort in certain lighting conditions.

They may be beneficial for everyday wear, night driving and digital device use, depending on the patient’s environment and lens type.

Blue light filtering lens options are available in selected lens designs and may be considered for patients who spend extended periods using digital devices.

These lenses are designed to selectively filter portions of blue-violet light and may be recommended according to individual visual requirements, working environments and lens preferences.

Some patients who experience visual discomfort, light sensitivity or prolonged screen exposure may choose this option as part of their overall visual comfort strategy.

Photochromic lenses darken when exposed to UV light and return to a clearer state indoors.

They may be suitable for patients who move regularly between indoor and outdoor environments and prefer not to switch constantly between clear lenses and prescription sunglasses.

Performance may vary depending on environmental conditions, lens material and exposure to UV light.

Adaptive tinted lenses maintain a subtle tint indoors and darken further outdoors in response to UV light.

They may be suitable for patients seeking visual comfort in changing light conditions while also enjoying the aesthetic appeal of lightly tinted eyewear.

Available in selected lens designs and colours, these lenses combine everyday practicality with a distinctive visual style.

Polarised sun lenses are designed to reduce glare from reflective horizontal surfaces such as roads, water and bright outdoor environments.

They may be recommended for outdoor use, driving and prescription sunglasses where glare reduction and visual comfort are priorities.

I came in for an eye test and to get some new lenses on my old frames. Yumna is the optometrist and she sorted me out really good, adviced and guided me on what lenses fit me the best and also did a great job with adjusting both new and old frames to fit perfectly. Picked up my new glasses today and an old one that needed a change of lenses and they are just perfect. I’m more than satisfied with the services rendered and I’d highly recommend.
